News and Updates 2014

  27th August 2014:

Unfortunately, the website has been targeted by spammers, and I'm getting thousands of emails every day. I try to sort out the "real" messages from the spam, but sometimes I end up just deleting everything because there's too much for me to wade through. Hopefully it will stop soon and we'll be back to normal service. In the meantime, if you've contacted me via the website and I haven't replied yet, I do apologise, and suggest you try again.

HEXAGON QUILTERS NEEDS YOU! Festival of Quilts on Sunday 10th August - a message from Penny Briggs
Our annual coach trip to the Festival of Quilts on Sunday 10th August is currently in urgent need of more participants! As usual, we booked a 50-seater coach as in past years weíve always been fully booked on the day, with one or two people on the reserve list. At the moment though the coach is just 60% full and with only one week to go weíre becoming very concerned that it wonít be filled. The cost of coach hire has shot up recently; this year itís over 20% more than last year. Also, the price differential between a 30-seater and a 50-seater is only £35 so booking a smaller coach doesnít help us. As you will appreciate, we canít afford to run coach trips at a loss. So please, please support us! If youíre thinking about booking but havenít done so please get in touch with Jean ASAP. And if you have booked but have sewing friends who might like to accompany you then please do your best to persuade them! Itís a wonderful day out and Iím looking forward to sharing it with lots of Hexagon Quilters and their friends. The coach leaves at 8am from Broad Street, Wokingham. More details can be found on the Members' Page here.

  3rd August 2014:

Jean has acquired a large amount of craft materials suitable for decoupage. She is happy to give them to anyone who would be able to use them, in exchange for a donation to the President's charity. If you are interested, please contact me via the website on enquiries@hexagonquilters.org.uk and I will forward your email to Jean so that you can arrange a suitable time to have a look at the items.

19th June 2014: There are still places available on the workshop tomorrow (20th June). If you're interested, see Chris Bristow or Penny Briggs tonight to sign up.
